European Association for Counselling

Ordinary Member Application/Renewal

European Ordinary Member Application/Renewal

The European Association for Counselling is dedicated to raising public awareness of the benefits of counselling throughout Europe.

Although, there is no need, in the majority of European countries, to be registered with a professional counselling organisation, however, registration to a professional body such as an ordinary member of the EAC, indicates that the individual is highly trained and subscribes to an ethical charter of practice.

EAC welcomes all counsellors to apply for Membership of the EAC also individuals who work in counselling and/or counsellor training or many of the diverse fields of education, employment; personal and career development, social work, nursing, business, industry, mental health, public service agencies, government and private practice.  Applicants do not need to be based in Europe to apply for membership but must support the Ethical Framework of the EAC as set out in the Ethics section of the EAC Website.

How to apply

The form below covers Ordinary EAC membership. The applicant must complete sections relevant to their application in BLOCK CAPITALS as it contains all the information required for the application at the chosen level of membership. There are sections covering:-

  1. Ordinary membership following graduation from an EAC Accredited Training Course
  2. Ordinary Membership Renewal following Graduation from an EAC Accredited Training Course
  3. Ordinary Membership following Graduation from a non-EAC Accredited Training Course
  4. Ordinary Membership Renewal following Graduation from a non-EAC Accredited Training Course

Please allow up to 28 working days for the processing of the membership application.

An administration charge of 20 will be deducted from any refund if an application is withdrawn before membership process is completed and no error occurred on the part of EAC. In the event of any balances over the 20 administration charge not claimed by the applicant within one year, EAC will write off the unclaimed amount as donations.

If, however, the applicant subsequently decides to reapply, EAC will reinstate the original payment and this can be used against the new subscription.

To ensure that EAC maintains its high standard of membership, all membership applications are subject to our checking procedure.

It is not everyone that can become a member of the EAC. In order to apply for membership every applicant at whatever level must be able to demonstrate their level of achievement both competency and/or academic levels (except for student applications). This is done by way of completing an application form which will be assessed and references taken up.

This will ensure that EAC meets its quality standards for the profession and that a high standard is maintained within the counselling profession

Please return the completed form, by printing your full name in the box marked signature { this will be accepted as your legal electronic signature} then press submit at end of form.
